Our story

Who we are. What we do.

We love compelling storytelling

Nina Vinther Andersen leads the Academy of Storytelling – or Talerakademiet, as it’s called in Danish. She is the author of the book ‘The art and science of public speaking – a practical and scientific guide to storytelling’.

With over 25 years of experience in every aspect of narrative technique, Nina brings deep expertise to the table. She completed a year of intensive training in public speaking, storytelling, and presentation skills in the U.S., and now brings the powerful American storytelling tradition — still rarely seen in Denmark — to her fellow Danes.

Today, hundreds of people, from C-level executives to professionals across all levels, have completed the Academy’s training. They leave equipped with evidence-based techniques that make them inspiring presenters, compelling storytellers, and confident, persuasive communicators.

She has previously worked as head of PR at Deloitte, been an external lecturer at a Danish university, and taught at the Danish School of Journalism. Before starting The Academy of Storytelling, she produced TV and radio documentaries and news programs for the Danish Broadcast Company and TV2 as well as worked for national newspapers. She holds a degree in journalism and a Master’s in Political Science from Aarhus University.

The team

The Academy of Storytelling is proud to work with some of the best communication coaches in Denmark. This includes stage instructor, Ph.D student and tv host trainer Mia Hesselberg-Thomsen, specialist in investor relations, Rachel Curtis Gravesen, who is a native English speaker and former journalist BBC and CNBC, and journalist Hanne Mølby Henriksen.
